Goodyear Enhances EV Tyre Portfolio

Goodyear Tire expanded its electric vehicle tyre portfolio with the launch of its all-season tyre, ElectricDrive, and two new sizes for its ultra-high performance tyre, ElectricDrive GT, on 1 September, 2022.
With the launch of four new sizes in its EV tyre portfolio, the US tyre maker’s ElectricDrive covers around 44 percent battery electric vehicles operating in the US today, claims Goodyear Tire.
ElectricDrive features
Available in sizes 215/50R17 95V XL and 215/55R17 94V SL, the ElectricDrive tyre is for commuter touring sedans and CUVs, making it suitable for vehicles like Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Bolt, Chevrolet Volt and Kia Niro EV. Goodyear Tire offers a 60,000 mile tread life limited warranty and V speed rating for the ElectricDrive.
The tyres are also engineered with a load index to account for the heavier load capacity of EVs. Besides, they feature sound comfort technology that is designed to reduce the level of interior vehicle noise. They also bring with them a specialised tread compound for all-season traction and long-lasting tread life, while an asymmetric tread pattern provides handling for wet or dry road conditions.

It provides drivers with the quality, performance and enhanced treadwear that they expect from our brands.”
ElectricDrive GT features
The ElectricDrive GT has a 40,000-mile tread life limited warranty and W speed rating. It comes in the sizes 255/45R19 104W XL, 235/45R18 98W XL and 235/40R19 96W XL.
“The addition of the new ElectricDrive GT sizes allow us to meet the unique needs of electric vehicle drivers with premium and performance products,” said Kramer.

The Serie 02 range, designed for tractors (AT02), harvesters (H02) and sprayers (SX02), incorporates significant technological advancements. Its design includes reinforced lugs and an optimised tread that enhance traction and self-cleaning while reducing fuel consumption. The radial structure utilises advanced polymers to create a larger footprint, which improves load distribution, minimises soil compaction and boosts overall productivity. Built for durability, these tyres offer excellent resistance to cuts, chipping and wear. Their versatility ensures reliable performance across diverse terrains and conditions, including road travel, where they provide safety, comfort and dependable handling.

Continental Opens New Premium Tyre Dealership In Indore

German tyre major Continental Tires has inaugurated a new Continental Premium Drive (CPD) dealership in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The new outlet, operated by Tyre Tune Up, strengthens Continental’s retail presence in central India.
The new CPD store, spread across 3,000 sqft, is located in Mechanic Nagar, Indore. It is designed as a one-stop destination offering Continental’s premium tyre portfolio alongside advanced services such as computerised wheel alignment, precision wheel balancing, nitrogen inflation and premium alloy wheels.
Indore was chosen for its status as a commercial and cultural hub with an expanding vehicle base, aligning with Continental’s expansion strategy. Tyre Tune Up has been a part of Indore’s automotive journey since 1956.
