Prometeon Tyre Group, a multi-brand manufacturer of truck, bus, agro and OTR tyres, has announced the launch of its first Prometeon-branded Serie 02 tyres for the European and Turkish markets in Istanbul, Turkey, as part of its rebranding strategy.

The new Prometeon Serie 02 line will be manufactured at the group's plant in Izmit, Turkey, which has a production capacity of around 1.85 million tyres per year. The launch in Turkey marks Prometeon's debut as a product brand in Europe and Turkey, building on the development that began with the manufacturing and sale of Serie 02 tires in Egypt for African and Middle Eastern markets.

Sharing this milestone on his LinkedIn page, Gokce Senocak, CEO – Turkey, Prometeon Tyre Group, said, “We are proud and excited to bring our corporate brand, Prometeon, to our tyres. The Golden Horn, which has played a significant role in the historical, commercial and cultural development of Istanbul, witnessed yet a milestone in Prometeon’s journey – our rebranding strategy. On October 3rd, we launched our brand for the European and Turkish markets in Istanbul. As Turkey’s first tyre factory, we have achieved significant success over the years, thanks to the dedication, hard work, and goal-oriented mindset of previous generations, as well as our current colleagues and business partners. Now, empowered by our deep-rooted history, we are unlocking a new era.”

Officially established in 2017 as a spin-off from the industrial division of Pirelli, Prometeon has come a long way since then through its multi-brand and multi-product approach and the group's R&D centres in Italy, Brazil and Turkey, as well as a Development Centre in Alexandria, Egypt.

India will once again be represented at the world's most formidable rally raid as veteran racer Sanjay Takale prepares for his second attempt at the Dakar Rally in 2026. Ultimately, Takale's journey back to the Dakar starting line symbolises India's growing footprint in international motorsport. I will once again be competing for my team, aerpace Racers, with technical support from Compagne Sharenne, France. Apollo Tyres Ltd has introduced the Vredestein Comtrac 2+, a new summer tyre engineered for light commercial vehicles. Set for a European launch in January 2026, this premium model will be available in 21 sizes for rims from 15 to 17 inches, including extra-load variants for heavier demands. It builds upon its predecessor with significant advancements in durability, efficiency and overall performance, aiming to lower the total cost of ownership for fleet operators.

A key innovation is a fourth-generation polymer compound, which boosts abrasion resistance by 13 percent. This advancement extends tread life, reduces replacement frequency and minimises the release of microplastics from wear. The tyre’s construction includes a reinforced bead area and a robust carcass for enhanced stability and reliability under heavy loads, improving vehicle uptime. Safety in wet weather is addressed through a specialised silica filler and an efficient tread pattern designed to prevent aquaplaning by rapidly dispersing water.

Furthermore, the Comtrac 2+ achieves a seven percent reduction in rolling resistance, improving fuel economy for conventional vehicles and helping to extend the driving range of electric and hybrid vans. Every aspect of the tyre is crafted for maximum longevity and cost efficiency, supporting business operations with fewer interruptions. The product also meets the stringent requirements of the European Union Deforestation Regulation, aligning with contemporary environmental and sustainability standards.

MRF Tyres has once again proven its motorsport pedigree by securing the 2025 FIA European Rally Championship Team Title.
