Marangoni To Showcase Dual New And Retreaded OTR Tyre Solutions At Steinexpo 2026

AZuR network partner Marangoni is set to demonstrate the practical potential of retreading within the tyre circular economy at Steinexpo 2026, particularly focusing on large Off-the-Road (OTR) tyres. The company’s participation underscores a commitment to resource efficiency by showcasing both new and retreaded solutions designed for the demanding conditions of the raw materials and construction materials industry. The event will take place from 2 to 5 September 2026 in Nieder-Ofleiden, where Marangoni will occupy booth B109 to present its latest innovations for heavy machinery, including wheel loaders.

A key highlight of the presentation will be the new Westlake CB745 wheel loader tyre, sized 35/65R33, for which Marangoni serves as the exclusive distributor for the DACH market, sourced from Zhongce Rubber Industries. The company notes that this new tyre features an advanced tread pattern specifically engineered to withstand rigorous applications commonly found in quarry operations. However, the exhibit will also prominently feature a retreaded alternative, the Marangoni MRN D2 in the same size, demonstrating the company’s dual approach to the market.

The retreading process is central to Marangoni's strategy and the broader circular economy model it champions. Prior to retreading, each casing undergoes rigorous inspection using advanced techniques like shearography to ensure its suitability for a second service life. This meticulous approach highlights a fundamental principle of the circular economy, where a tyre is not automatically discarded after its first use. By preserving the material value of suitable casings, retreading extends the utility of these large, material-intensive products significantly.

This strategy is particularly critical for OTR tyres, given the substantial raw materials required for their initial manufacture. Retreading, alongside repair and regrooving, is therefore positioned as an essential pillar of the tyre circular economy, aligning with the AZuR network's goals of maximising the lifespan of viable tyres before recycling. Marangoni's presence at Steinexpo will thus serve as a practical case study in implementing circularity within specialised tyre segments, advocating for a holistic life-cycle approach where the technical viability and economic value of tyres are sustained for as long as possible.
